The jealous, envy but the smart ones make a mark for themselves. While I personally don’t have a celeb that I “want to be like”, I do have ones that occasionally hit me with a major dose of style envy. I must be honest – I have tried to copy their looks… I have tried on the weird, unusual and often shocking items that celebs are rocking on Instagram and I just can’t pull it off. It’s usually after my failed fitting room attempts that knock some sense into me of why a lot of the runway items aren’t actually sold at retail. I have come to the conclusion after many years of being a garmento that you can’t hijack someone’s style… It must come naturally and be you! While all that may be true, there are ways to channel a celeb in a way where you can still “keep it real”. After years and years of studying the celeb scene, there are 4 ways to always look like a celeb (without the crazy shoulder pads, pink hair or shoes you can’t actually walk in) and feel good while doing it. Follow these 4 quick rules and trust me… the paparazzi may be sneaking up on you!

Rock Statement Accessories With Understated Outfits

The bigger the better right? Bright, bold and just killer accessories hit us hard each season on the runway. Pair those with the crazy outfits the designers make and personally I think it’s overkill. If you scope out that perfect necklace, bag or hat and pop that into your everyday uniform you will feel like a million bucks or our girl Riri. Don’t be shy – with an understated outfit, a statement accessory will do that talking for you.

Monochromatic Outfits

Black, white or red – we see celebs going for the ultimate monochromatic look and we have to be honest – it works!!! Skinny black jeans, a black leather moto jacket, booties and a slouchy black tee… Doesn’t that sound like an outfit we have seen every celeb in at one point? We often see celebs on monochromatic suits, or tone on tone getups at killer Hollywood events and we are just lovin’ it! Get on the bandwagon and remember, “Women that wear all black, lead very colorful lives!”

Statement Sunnies

Big shades block out the haters and make you see much clearer. While you’re wearing that killer monochromatic outfit from above put on those sunnies that have more bling than your amazing ring! Big or small – red, tortoise or white… there are no rules and this is a time to have fun & play!
