Guccio Gucci opened a leather goods workshop in Florence in 1922 that would one day become one of the most successful and recognizable brands in the world. With his three sons, Guccio created beautiful leather pieces that reflected a jet-set rich lifestyle. When Tom Ford joined the fashion house in 1990 Gucci was propelled to new fashion stardom. Ford’s 1995 collection changed fashion overnight and solidified Ford as a fashion god. Gucci today is part of The Gucci Group and still manufactures high-end leather goods, clothing and other accessories.
