We at Michael’s would like to wish you a happy International Women’s Day today! As a team made up of all women, we are all about celebrating women empowerment, women in business, and women who support other women. Today we thought we could share some fantastic and accomplished women who continue to inspire us every day.
This English fashion designer creates sustainable items in support of animal rights and the environment. Stella McCartney has been paving the ways for a greater world, especially in fashion. She has had her own fashion house under her own name since 2001, half of the stake owned by Kering group. In April 2018, McCartney decided to purchase the other half of her houses stake from Kering.

Phoebe was at Chloe from 1997-2006 then to Celine from 2008-2018. Under Philo’s leadership, Chloe became ones of Paris Fashion Week’s most coveted invites. At Celine, she designed and tailored unexpected silhouettes as well as high quality and sought after accessories. Celine became a completely for women by women brand, just like Michael’s.

McGrath’s ground-breaking work for the runway has earned her prestigious awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the Fashion Awards. Also on her mile-long resume: a line of cosmetics she developed for Giorgio Armani and a stint as global beauty creative design director for Procter & Gamble, where she created collections for Cover Girl and Max Factor. In 2015, she released her own cosmetics line called Pat McGrath Labs which is now worth an estimated $1 billion. Her cosmetics are being sold around the world at Sephora while she has her own Pat McGrath Lab on 5th avenue in New York. This boss lady is definitely one of our inspirations.

After being raised and educated in the hills of Tuscany, Italy, Ippolita immigrated to the United States at the age of 18. Ippolita holds the position of Creative Director and leads the design and manufacture of her eponymous line, which includes collections in 18k gold, sterling silver, rosé (a proprietary alloy of sterling silver with 18k gold and 18k rose gold) and non-metal materials, such as Resin.
